Jamaat Ahmadiyya al Mouslemeen FRIDAY SERMON of Hazrat Amirul Momeneen Zafrullah Domun 25 December 2009 At
Bait-ul-Rahma Mosque
After reciting the Tauz, the Tashahhud and the first chapter of the Holy Qur’an, Hazrat Amir ul Mo’meneen Zafrullah Domun said: Today is the last Friday of 2009.By the Grace of Allah we will be holding our Jalsa Salana after Jummah. The program will incha Allah be short but I hope it will be sweet as well. Let us also pray and hope that we will keep alive the reasons for which Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad as, Founder of Jamaat Ahmadiyya started this annual convention under divine guidance in 1891. On various occasions Hazrat Masih Maood as explained what were the main objectives of this annual congregation. Among other things he said that it was an occasion for the members to know each other and to strengthen their bond of brotherhood. In addition it was an occasion to increase our knowledge of Islam when the participants will get the occasion to listen to the different speeches that will be delivered on the occasion by the learned persons of the Jamaat. As far as we are concerned members will be gratified by speeches on the glorious period of Islamic history, on the concept of wilayat, and also with some anecdotes from the Masnavi of Maulana Rumi. Besides some hadith, our members will get the opportunity of getting a summary of the book “Letter to a dear one” by Sir Zafrullah Khan and of “the Blessings of Prayer” by Hazrat Masih Maoodas. Furthermore Hazrat Masih Maoodas said that the annual gathering was also an occasion for the members to engage in prayers and in the remembrance of Allah. Moreover by attending these meetings the participants love for the world will be dampened and they will develop an eagerness in themselves to prepare themselves for their final journey to the other world. Hazrat Masih also said that we should use such occasions to pray for the forgiveness of all those brothers and sisters who might have died during the year. I request all participants to keep in view all these noble objectives and to strive to accomplish each one of them as best as he/she can. May Allah help each one of us to follow on the path laid down by Hazrat Masih Maood as for the members of his Jamaat. By the beginning of next year it will be nine years since we were removed from the mainstream Jamaat Ahmadiyya in 2001. Some persons thought that with enough social boycott and pressure we would give in and come back to them on our knees. Others were very happy of my departure because they would be free to do what they liked within the Jamaat. Some people were genuinely sorry that we had been excluded from the Jamaat. As far as I am concerned, although in the beginning I was a bit surprised at the turn of events I was never sorry at all that I had been expelled from the Jamaat. Two of my maternal uncles phoned me to tell me to present my excuses and to reintegrate. I told them I would not do so. If I refused to tender my excuses it was because I was more than 100% sure that I had not done anything wrong and I was receiving almost daily consolations from Allah which helped me to understand that I had to fear no one but Allah. And by the Grace of Allah I did not succumb to any kind of pressure although later we would come to know that at that time unknown to me Munir Azim had already sent his letter of apology to the caliph. Later events proved us right. The then caliph peremptorily broke my pledge of allegiance to him but in the end Allah revealed to me to tell the people that they can take the pledge from me. The Jamaat thought that we were going to drown ourselves because we were cut off from khilafat. Allah made us understand what real khilafat is and helped us to swim in the deep ocean of spirituality instead of playing on the seashore where we were up till then. By the Grace of Allah some courageous Ahmadis like you who are still here threw caution to the winds and joined us to increase our numbers. Of course there were some weak hearted who joined but could not bear the winds and water of this violent sea and they preferred to go where they could sail plainly. Allah, out of His Grace deepened our understanding of Ahmadiyyat and Islam and He has opened our mind so that we may broaden our outlook on many issues instead of allowing our mind to be calcified under the Ahmadiyya system. The result has been that the Ahmadis through their leaders have left the field and they have never been able to reply to some questions that we have asked them. Knowledgewise, by the Grace of Allah we are on very solid grounds. Jamaat Ahmadiyya mainstream has been unable up till now to convince us to the contrary. However we have to concede that in one area they have succeeded. The Ahmadiyya Propaganda Machine is so powerful and efficient through its Markazi delegates that they have been able to mentally enslave almost all the Mauritian Ahmadis. Although some may agree that they cannot counter our arguments yet they would stay where their father was because they do not know enough to help them to join the Jamaat that is giving them the pristine teachings of Hazrat Masih Maood as. Some have even told me that their missionaries have refused to engage into a dialogue with us. If caliphs and missionaries do not dare who is left? The fact is that those who know amongst the mainstream Ahmadis are quite well aware that if they tried to discuss with us on our claims they would be easily defeated because our claims are based on those of Hazrat Masih Maoodas. That is why they do not dare to enter this battle field because they know that defeat has already been decreed for them. We have shown beyond doubt that the interpretation given by Jamaat Ahmadiyya for khilafat cannot withstand the onslaught of the verses of the Holy Quran and the writings of Hazrat Masih on this subject or even the action that Allah has taken by telling someone within Jamaat Ahmadiyya that He has made him an Imam for the people. Someone has told me that recently in the Ansar Ijtema someone spoke about the subject of khilafat. What he said was not music to some people’s ears . So another speaker spoke in the recent Jalsa Salana explaining to the poor people the official thinking about this matter. As far as we are concerned we have said that the Jamaat has a wrong concept of khilafat as propounded by the second caliph. We espouse the concept that has been taught by Hazrat Masih Maoodas and he was by far more knowledgeable than anyone in Jamaat Ahmadiyya about this matter. Now if the knowledgeable people in the mainstream Jamaat think that we are mistaken I invite them to teach us or better to debate with us on the subject on a website. Everyone will post its arguments in favour of its position. Let all the Ahmadis see who really speaks in favour of Hazrat Masih Maood as! Now I will briefly speak about another matter. It concerns the unislamic practices during the end of year festivities. It is indeed ironic that when the caliph tells the people to practice social boycott with their fellow brothers and sisters you will notice a fanatic zeal to carry out his instructions. However when the same caliph tells the members that they should observe purdah and that they should stop practicing innovations you will see the same people start dragging their feet. It is as if they have wax in their ears and they do not hear such instructions at all. On the eve of the New Year many Ahmadis will light firecrackers at midnight. This is a colonial practice that is hard to die and some Ahmadis do keep it alive. Yet it is well known that Hazrat Masih Maood as said in the sixth condition of bai’at that an Ahmadi “shall not conform to vulgar customs and shall guard against evil inclinations and shall submit himself wholly to the spirit of the Holy Quran and shall make the word of Allah and the word of the Holy Prophet the guiding principles of his life.” Nowhere in the conditions of bai’at will you see that you will have to boycott your fellow brothers and sisters in Islam. But you are advised to be kind, generous to all. However you have been asked to abstain from practicing vulgar customs. How many of those champions of khilafat have stopped their vulgar practices especially during the end of year festivities? I hope and pray that members of Jamaat Ahmadiyya Al Mouslemeen will do their best to uproot all sorts of vulgar practices (if there are any) from our midst. In Islam the role of the Guide or whatever you might call him is to help the followers to know Allah in the real sense of the word. That is why many times Hazrat Masih has told us that the mere pronouncement of the words of the pledge of allegiance is not enough. One should strive to follow the right path as best as one can. This is the first step. However if one meets with some difficulty in removing evil or in practicing good one should resort to the guide who through prayers and advices will try to make things easy for the wayfarer. The life of this world is such that it can easily make one forget the real purpose for which one has been created. So to make things easy for the people Allah sends them someone with a mandate from Himself to make the sojourn of the people, easy in this life by understanding its real purpose. The other day I was reading after Fajr prayer the story of the people of Ad from the Holy Quran. It was from chapter 26, Al Shu’araa. After telling his people what according to the Holy Quran other prophets said to their people they told him: “It is the same to us whether thou admonish us or whether you do not admonish us ‘this is nothing but the habit of the ancients and we shall not be punished”(26:137-9) Although not in words but at least in deeds this is what the Ahmadis has been telling me. They follow their leaders and they are safe. It is my prayer and hope that they really are safe. But Allah will do what He likes and what He desires. A few
weeks back I told some friends about a revelation that Allah gave me one
morning. He said “I will soon envelope the world with a very cold winter”.
Now if you are following the news you might easily see how severe this
winter is in To end I would like to tell all members of Jamaat Ahmadiyya Al Mouslemeen that Allah has been very benignant to them that they have befriended one of His friends. So they should all show through their personal conduct that they are not like others who do not know where they are going. In this Jamaat your main task is to improve your behavior. You should become a true reflection of the moral qualities of the Holy Prophet Mohammad saw as exemplified through the teachings of the Holy Quran. Hence all of you should make it a must that he should love learn understand and reflect upon the verse of the Holy Quran. If you do not do so and concentrate only upon having success in worldly matters, you will succeed definitely but there is no guarantee at all for your afterlife which is most important for any Muslim. So my dear ones be careful and do not listen to these words of mind with inattention or with negligence. Allah has sent me to you as a guide; you will profit by following the instructions of your Guide. May Allah be with you all always incha Allah. Ameen |
