Jamaat Ahmadiyya al Mouslemeen
Friday Sermon of
24 OCTOBER 2008
At Bait-ul-Rahma Mosque |
|
After reciting, Tashahhud, Ta'uz and chapter Al Fatiha of the Holy Quran, Hazrat Amirul Mo'menine Zafrullah Domun recited verses 174 to 177 of chapter Al Imran (3) of the Holy Quran and then he said: Following the revelations which I received where Allah said to me “Fa kaifa kaana azabi wa nozour” and “Fa hal mim muddakir” which respectively means “see how terrible was My Punishment and how true was My Warning” and “Is there anyone to take heed?”, I have read and explained to you the whole of chapter Al-Qamar (54) where these words have been repeated several times. As members of Jamaat Ahmadiyya we all should take great care and heed the warnings of Allah whenever these warnings are being repeated to us. We should show through our words and deeds that we are among those true believers who reflect upon the words of Allah and we do not turn our backs on them.I have already told you about the four ancient peoples to whom Allah sent prophets to warn them but they did not heed the warnings and they were destroyed. At the end of my sermon last week I spoke about an email that had been circulated particularly among Ahmadis around the world where they have been warned about those who want to undermine khilafat. Ahmadis have been advised to listen to a YouTube video where two minute extracts from the speeches of Hazrat Hakim Molvi Nuruddin (ra) have been read. The extracts speak, among other things, about how he was fully convinced that Allah has made him a caliph. No one can speak about his removal from this office. If Allah thinks that he is unfit for this task He would remove him by causing him to die. However it also warns those who wanted to harm his khilafat that he had at his disposal people like Khalid Bin Walid who would punish them like apostates. The title of the YouTube video is “For Lahori Ahmadis and Munafiqeen and Anti-Khilafat”. It can be viewed and heard at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AYjtQ8TAtX0. Those who are interested may watch listen to it. When you listen to the tone of the one reading this extract, it seems threatening, raucous, and full of hate, as if authoritative. It is not at all different from those spiteful mullahs who spit out their venom throughout Pakistan against innocent Ahmadis. Ordinary, simple minded Ahmadis would feel threatened by such remarks. And the Jamaat propagandists use such extracts on purpose to threaten innocent Ahmadis lest they start deserting the Jamaat once they come to understand the truthfulness of others' arguments. Since there is no denying the fact that I have been repeating in my sermons and writing that the mainstream Jamaat has a wrong idea of what is khilafat, I feel that I am also included in the group to which this YouTube video has been addressed. Therefore I will respond to this threat with the following verses of the Holy Quran:
We are the people who have responded to the call of Allah in the true sense. We are loyal to the teachings of Hazrat Masih Maood (as). The first verse speaks about the Promise of Allah for us. You will recall what I said to you on 26 September 2008. Allah said that He has kept “Al Husna” for all of you. If we do good deeds Allah will reward us amply. How many of you have been frightened by others. First of all the caliph said that we will meet an evil end. Others have said the usual things like “those who leave the Jamaat will perish as others have perished.” You have been boycotted by the ignorant ones. Once an ahmadi told me “you are not afraid for what the caliph said about you”. I told him I am not afraid at all of what he said. Since a very young age I understood that I should cultivate the fear of Allah and not that of any human being. And throughout my life I have understood that as you grow in the fear and Love of Allah, the love and fear of others leave your heart. We are a small group and we have to rub thorns with a bigger group far mightier than we are. But we live with the conviction that “Kam min fe'atin qalilatin ghalabat fe'atan qalilatan be iznilla wallaho ma'as sabereen” 'How many a small party has triumphed over a large party by Allah's command! And Allah is with the steadfast.'(2:250).The whole Jamaat in Mauritius and the caliph together with all his power have been mustered against us and we have replied “Hasbonallah wa nemal wakil”, that is,“ 'Sufficient for us is Allah, and an excellent Guardian is He.' Our rights were trampled but we did not go to complain in any court of law. Our honour was attacked but we did not hit back with all the means at our disposal. Under all circumstances we remained loyal to our Lord and we continued to say “'Sufficient for us is Allah, and an excellent Guardian is He.” We were never afraid of anyone else besides Allah and we moved foreword. And Our Lord, the most loyal of those who are loyal never abandoned us to our lot. He always encouraged us to stay the course with His soothing words in the form of revelations. There has never been a difficult moment when He did not come with His pure revelations to say that He is near and Help is near. By the Grace of Allah, I have stopped noting how many times Allah says to me: “Alaysallaho be kaafin abdohou – is not Allah sufficient for His Servant ?” or “inna nasrullahé qariboum minal mohseneen - Surely the Help of Allah is near for those who do good”. So by the Grace of Allah we continue to cultivate His Love and Fear and we are afraid of no one besides Him. I think this is one of the Favours that Allah has granted us- we are not at all afraid of anyone besides him. We view all those who have a semblance of power to be like innocent birds that can neither bring benefits nor cause any harm. And even if at times evil touches us Allah changes it into something good for us and Allah is the Lord of great bounty. In the last verse that I have read Allah says: “It is Satan who only frightens his friends, so fear them not but fear Me, if you are believers.” Allah's friends should be afraid of Allah's threats as we have spoken about in the past two sermons. Allah's Friends are given such a type of courage that they completely ignore all threatening voices whatever their sources. They know only “Fa kaifa kaana azabi wa nozour” and “Fa hal mim muddakir ” that is “see how terrible was My Punishment and how true was My Warning” and “Is there anyone to take heed?” Real friends of Allah fear this and they ignore every other threats. If a friend of Allah feels threatened by someone other than Allah, it means he does not know who is Allah because if he knew he would also have known that the friendship of Allah liberates the heart from the fear of anyone besides Him! Such is our Allah, Lord of great Might. Being Ahmadis who are the true followers of Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad as who has taught us the real teachings of Hazrat Mohammad (saw), we are thoroughly convinced that Allah has taught us the real meanings of Khilafat as it has been explained by the Founder of Jamaat Ahmadiyya. Other meanings of khilafat are irrelevant. The words of Hazrat Molvi Nuruddin Khalifatul Masih, of blessed memory should not be taken out of context. He was caliph from 1908 to 1914 and he faced a set of circumstances which are quite different than what we have today. he was addressing the trouble makers of his time. Like Hazrat Abu Bakr (ra) he showed same firmness. But what he said at that time cannot be used today because the circumstances are quite different. Since his time almost hundred years have elapsed and many things have happened. Only a bigoted mullah who would try to deceive others by quoting such extracts. Hazrat Masih Maood as had told us that, after eighty years all Jamaats start getting corrupted. In order to renew their faith Allah will send to them revivers who would remove their evil teachings and bring them back to the original teachings. Despite the fact that Hazrat Masih has said this in many places in his writings, the Jamaat's Establishment nowadays does not talk at all about these extracts because it does not want Ahmadis to know about them or to ask questions about them. The Jamaat wants the people to believe that khilafat as they want to define it is what was promised by Hazrat Masih and this will go on till the end of the world. And several times I have said with convincing arguments that this is not the WHOLE TRUTH of what Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) said about khilafat. Furthermore, in his desire to show his stupidity and ignorance a diehard Ahmadi has blurted out an extract which is quite contrary to our own beliefs. As I have said Molvi Nuruddin (ra) was talking in a particular context and he said that he has at his disposal “Khalid Bin Walids” who would rout those who were against his khilafat like Khalid Bin Walid did against the apostates in the early history of Islam. But today we know that this is the idea of all our non Ahmadis opponents who say that we are apostates and we should be killed. Jamaat's literature is full of booklets, sermons, speeches which show that killing of apostates is unislamic. Now you have someone who poses himself as a diehard defender of Jamaat's teachings opening his mouth in a YouTube video to utter such a despicable teaching and associating it with Jamaat Ahmadiyya. This in itself shows that those who want to dub themselves as the defenders of Jamaat Ahmadiyya are in fact its enemies because they show its teachings in an unfavorable and unislamic light. As far as you, my friends of Jamaat Ahmadiyya Al Mouslemeen are concerned I want you all to know what Allah has told me about all of us. Last week He said to me:
Others who are very parochial in their views may say whatever they like, but we are fully convinced that our stand is the right one. But we keep an open mind because Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) has told us to do so. He said:
I am repeating this quotation several times so that those who may not have read it may get an opportunity to read it. It is only three lines long. But it is full of wisdom. If all Ahmadis were to follow only this instruction of Hazrat Masih Maood as , we would have had a means to solve many of the differences that have crept in the Jamaat and it will also help us to solve all types of problems that we may face in the future. But unfortunately those who are exercising temporal power want to impose their view on the general public and they cannot withstand another point of view and they do not tolerate that others should even have point of views. They want to operate in a closed system and for that they need closed minds. But such an attitude is not what we have been taught by Hazrat Masih Maood (as). He taught us to examine critically and to question our own beliefs with fear of Allah in our heart. Allah has also told me on Tuesday last that the world will enter into unprecedented period of turmoil. When I was told this I automatically asked a question. I was given to understand that the answer is found in chapter Nooh (71). Therefore I have thought it wise to read this whole chapter to you so that you may know what is its message and what should you do in the coming days so that you may attract Allah's Grace. The translation is as follows:
This is a very short chapter. It consists of only twenty nine verses. But what has been said in this chapter is very important for everyone especially during these times of trouble. We should all follow what Hazrat Nuh as told his people, namely that they should ask forgiveness from their Lord for their sins. In return Allah will give provisions in abundance. Let us hope that the people of today, specially the Ahmadis do not show the same attitude as that of the people of Hazrat Nuh (as). May Allah avert from us the evil that lie ahead incha Allah. Ameen. |
