After reciting the Tauz, the Tashahhud and the first chapter of the Holy Quran Imam Zafrullah Domun said:

Last week I ended my sermon by quoting Hazrat Masih Maood^as saying that he has been sent to upgrade the moral standard of the umma. Hence if someone says that he has accepted Hazrat Masih Maood^as as the Imam of the millennium, it is incumbent upon him or her to show a degree of moral perfection that is not found amongst those who have been deprived of the blessings of recognizing someone whom Allah has sent for their moral upliftment. As such we, members of Jamaat Ahmadiyya Al Mouslemeen should do our best to behave in such a way that all our actions show that we really belong to a Jamaat that distinguishes itself by its moral excellences. All of us whether we are old or young we should be constantly aware that we should never fall short of the standard exemplified by the example of the Holy Prophet Mohammad ^saw or even Hazrat Masih Maood ^as.

Out of His Mercy Allah has always provided His Servants with the necessary guidance so that they may perfect their morals. But unfortunately due to negligence many feign ignoring these teachings and they display the ugliness of their character and land themselves in trouble. Allah has given us the Holy Quran so that we might read it and enlighten ourselves about what Allah wishes us to do. Fortunately, for us if we follow its teachings we will keep ourselves out of trouble in this world and in the next also. But many people do not care at all and soon they may find themselves in deep trouble. A true servant of Allah should find pleasure in carrying out the commandments of Allah whether he is pleased with them or not. Sooner or later if one strives to understand one will know the wisdom underlying all the commandments of Allah as have been laid out in the Holy Quran. Once we accept the Holy Prophet Mohammad ^saw as the bringer of the Holy Quran, it is our duty to follow all the teachings that are found in the Holy Quran. Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad ^as says:

“Blessed are they who for the sake of the Lord wages a war against their own selves; while ill starred are those who for the sake of their own baser selves wage a war against their Lord, and refuse to mould themselves in obedience to His Will. Whosoever for the sake of his own self evades a commandment of the Lord; he will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Strive therefore to the utmost that not a jot or syllable of the Holy Quran should bear witness against you, and cause you to be apprehended on that account. For, indeed, even a single grain of evil is punishable. The time is very short; the mission of your life is not yet fulfilled. Walk with speed, for the evening draws nigh. Whatever you have put before the Lord examine it well and as often as you can, lest some defect remain to cause irreparable loss: or lest you take something with you which in fact should amount to no more than filthy and spurious goods, not worthy to be presented at a royal court…”(Our Teachings page 16-17)

A bit further in the same book he says:

“Therefore beware. Do not take a single step in contravention of anything contained in the Holy Book. Verily, I tell you truly that whosoever evades even the least of the seven hundred commandments embodied in the Holy Quran, he slams the door of salvation upon himself. The real and perfect paths of salvation have been opened only by the Holy Quran; all others were only its shadows. Therefore you should study this Holy Scripture with the utmost attention and deepest thought; and you should love it as you have never loved anything else. For, indeed, as Allah has conveyed to me “Al khayro koullohou fil qur’an” i.e all the good lies in the Quran. All kinds of good are to be found in it- and this is the truth. Unfortunate, indeed, are the person who to other things give preference over it- and this is the truth. The Holy Quran is the fountainhead for your salvation, for all betterment and success. There is not a single spiritual need which has not been met for you in this Holy Book. The supporter or falsifier of your faith on the Day of Judgment will be the Holy Quran. And apart from this book there is no other under the heavens which can provide you with direct guidance….”

There is no denying the fact that at a time when most people could not read and write, they had to content themselves to listening to what the khatib said in the sermon to know about their duties. But these days almost all people can read and write and it is the duty of everyone to seek knowledge and to try to understand from source materials so that you might not be led astray by an authority figure. In fact Hazrat Masih Maood^as has advised the members of his Jamaat to read his writings which are nothing but commentaries upon the verses of the Holy Quran. Consequently one can easily know what is wrong and what is right. Armed with the light of the knowledge of Hazrat Masih Maood^as one can dispel any kind of darkness about any subject whether it is about khilafat or mujaddaiyyat or nabuwwat. On all these subject Hazrat Masih Maood ^as is the teacher par excellence. Any piece of writing or speech where what he says has been deliberately ignored is incomplete and inadequate. Any true Ahmadi (there are many who are so only in name) cannot speak about any subject which is a core belief of Ahmadiyyat without quoting what Hazrat Masih Maood ^as has said about the subject in question. Hence, reading the Holy Quran with the light that Hazrat Masih Maood ^as has shed on its verses with his god-given knowledge is a must for every Ahmadi worthy of that name. If we do so we have a guarantee that we will not be led astray. Otherwise we run the risk of being entangled in the cobwebs of our own imagination and invent our own fatwas about what Islam is in fact. As far as we are concerned we have always tried to follow along the lines prescribed for us by Hazrat Masih Maood^as. By following this path, Allah, out of His Mercy has given us additional knowledge so much so that we are in a position even to challenge the mainstream Ahmadiyya leadership about some of its teachings and practices and up till now they have been so stunned that not one amongst them has dared to refute what we have to say.

From the Holy Quran Hazrat Masih concluded that Allah will continue to send some of His Servants as guide to others especially at a moment when His teachings are diluted or start to be flouted. But the Jamaat through its successive caliphs particularly the second, third and fourth and now the fifth say the contrary. To them their khilafat is more important than what Hazrat Masih Maood^as has said. They will not recognize any one who will be appointed by Allah and they will not even investigate his claims because if they find it to be true they will have to accept it and hence they prefer to ignore it completely. Where is moral honesty in this? What has then been the contribution or even importance of Hazrat Masih Maood’s teachings in our upbringing if we casually flout them and trample them under our feet? This is a question for those who are claiming that they are the true representatives of Hazrat Masih Maood’s Jamaat to answer.

Anyone who makes a claim that he comes from Allah does so on the basis of divine revelation. The common man does not know about this manifestation because he lives so far removed from His Lord being engrossed in worldly matters. Because of their paucity of understanding, usually those who do not receive revelations will say of the recipient of revelations that he is mad, his followers are mad. They might even say that it should have been revealed to our leaders or that Allah has not revealed anything at all. But had these people been aware of the teachings of the Holy Quran they would not have made such preposterous statements. Had they been reading their Holy Quran they would have known that Allah has made several statements in it for “people of understanding”. One such verse is “wa maa qararoullaha haqqa qadrehi iz qalou maa anzalallaho ala basharim min shay’in”(6:92) which we translate as “ and they do not make a just attribute of Allah’s capacity when they say: “ Allah has not revealed anything to any man”. So by this verse we can easily conclude among the mainstream Ahmadis the multitude have still not been able to make a proper estimate of Allah’s grandeur even 102 years after the death of the founder and yet they continue to claim falsely that  they know his teachings and that they are trying to spread them around the world. Now let us look what Hazrat Masih himself has said. In the same book “Our Teaching” on page 15, he says:

“Do not think that the Revelation from God is not possible in the future as that  was possible in the past: do not think that the Holy Spirit cannot come down now. I tell you truly that every door can be closed but the door for the coming down of the Holy Spirit. Open all the doors of your heart to receive it. With your own hands you remove yourself to a distance from the sun when you close the window through which light can enter. Therefore get up at once and throw this window open, so that the light of the sun should, of its own accord, enter your heart with the simplicity and inevitability of a natural process. When God has not closed the doors of His Blessings upon the world, when in fact he has multiplied them even more than before, do you venture to presume that he has closed upon you the doors of His spiritual blessings, even at a time when they are most needed. No, no; not at all. Rather has that door been opened beyond any possible shadow of doubt. Now, in accordance with His Teachings as given in Surah Al Fatiha , when the door of all earlier blessings has been opened for you , why do you decline to receive them? Create a thirst for this spring, and then, of itself, the water will begin to gush out. For this milk cry like a child, so that it should well up in the breast. Begin to deserve mercy so that you may be shown mercy. Show anxiety and deep concern so that your minds should be set at rest. Cry out with pain, again and again, so that a hand should reach itself and take hold of you….” (page 16)

Hazrat Masih Maood ^as was an aarif billah meaning a knower of Allah. He is the person who has enlightened us most in the present era. He underwent a lot of sacrifices to help people know about Allah. It is a pity that today those who should have been his most fervent followers should be proclaiming his veracity by their tongues but denying him by their actions. I request you to take these extracts and show it to your friends from the mainstream Jamaat and ask them to explain them. You will see that they will be at a loss to reconcile these teachings with their present behavior. Let us pray and hope that there will be more people who would thirst to know Allah as Hazrat Masih wished that they should know and they let go of their enmity and we all work together for the accomplishment of the objectives for which Hazrat masih Maood ^as was sent as a representative of the Holy Prophet Mohammad and as the Messiah to the world incha Allah.
