  • Commenting on the Caliph's last Friday sermon on “ehdenas siratal moustaqeem :

...these days Allah has also said to me, a servant of the Promised Messiah, “Innaka ala siratim moustaqeem ” meaning “you are on the straight path”. By the Grace of Allah we are rightly guided and to this guidance we invite others.

After reading the Tashahhud, the Ta’uz and the first chapter of the Holy Quran, Hazrat Amirul Mo’menine, Zafrullah Domun read a few verses in Arabic from Ruku 10 of chapter 6 of the Holy Quran (verses 84 to 91). Then he said:

I have noticed that in his Friday sermon of last week the caliph of the mainstream Ahmadiyya Jamaat has commented upon the verse “ehdenas siratal moustaqeem”, which means, of course “guide us to the right path”. The gist of his sermon is that this prayer holds the key to both material and spiritual progress and that Ahmadis and all Muslims should make full use of it. We have nothing to say against this statement. The caliph has also quoted other verses of the Holy Quran which re-in forces the message contained in the verse. Verses that he has quoted are as follows:

"And whosoever believes in Allah – He guides his heart aright…’" (64:12) "And if you obey him, you will be rightly guided…" (24:55). “as for those who follow guidance, He adds to their guidance…” (47:18).

Now as you may see whatever the caliph has said is right because he has quoted the Holy Quran and the writings of the Promised Messiahas. The caliph’s mission is to tell the people that there was an imam who came 100 years ago and that they have to accept him. But that same imam, namely Hazrat Masih Maoodas has said in many places in his writings that Allah will continue to send people whom he will directly appoint from time to time to guide the people. Moreover after Hazrat Masih Maood as most if not all of these people will come from his own Jamaat. I am not going to quote the relevant extracts here because I have done so in my writings and sermons previously. Most of the quotations that he has cited in his sermon will lead us to the conclusion that people who follow the guidance in this umma will be leaders of others on the right path because they will become part of that elect group known as “the prophets, the truthfuls, the martyrs and the righteous”. “And for each will be a rank according to their actions”, so says Allah.

Unfortunately the caliph does not take this argument to its logical conclusion. For all Ahmadis who truly believe in the teachings of Hazrat Masih Maoodas, Allah has blessed them by raising someone amongst them as an imam to help them to achieve the purpose of their life. The caliph could help all Ahmadis to understand this truth. But since he is averse to it he does not even speak about it and thus he keeps all the Ahmadis in the dark about the blessings that Allah has sent to them. But yet he continues to speak to the people that such blessings are within reach but he, himself he fails to recognize it. The caliph should have been part to the solution of the problem but he has preferred to be just part of the problem.

Now I will tell you what Allah says in ruku 10 of chapter 6. In the previous ruku Allah speaks about the path that Hazrat Ibrahim as took to reach certainty in faith. Then Allah says in verse 84:“And that is our argument which we gave to Abraham against his people.” In the next portion of the verse Allah says “narfa’o darjaatim man nashaa’o” meaning “We raise in degrees of rank whomsoever We please”. This is a very small portion of a verse but it is pregnant with meaning. To give a spiritual status to someone is an exclusive prerogative of Allah because He knows the heart of each individual. He chooses the one to represent him. Look at the pope. It is claimed that he is a representative of God on earth and he is believed to be so by more than one and half billion Christians. But can he show any sign that Allah has given him that he is His representative. Similarly there may be others who make the claim but they do not have the proof to back the claim. In Jamaat Ahmadiyya, however, if someone makes a claim and backs it with proofs from Allah, he has to be believed. Then Allah says “Thy Lord is indeed wise and all-knowing”. Its meaning is His choice to raise someone is a wise choice and He is All-knowing and hence His choice cannot be bad.

In verse 85, Allah says “And we gave him (i.e Abraham) Ishaac and Yacoob and all we guided aright. And before that we guided Noah aright, and of his progeny David and Solomon and Job and Joseph and Moses and Aaron. Thus do we reward those who do good.” With this verse Allah starts mentioning the prophets to whom He gave guidance. He guided them because they practiced virtue; they were good doers.

Next Allah says “And we guided Zachariah and John and Jesus and Elias; each of them was righteous”

In the next verse Allah says: “And we also guided Ishmail and Elisha and Jonah and Lot! “Wa koullan fazzalna alal aalameen”, that is “each one of them did we exalt above the people”. So we see here that Allah wants us to understand that His chosen ones are exalted above all others. Now remember how many times I have told you that Allah has said to me “Inni fazzaltokoum alal aalameen” meaning “I have exalted you above all the people”. This is Allah’s Grace and He gives it to whomsoever He pleases. And Allah wishes these days to exalt the true followers of Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, The Mahdi and Promised Messiahas.

In the next verse Allah says:” And we exalted some of their fathers and their children and their brethren and we chose them and we guided them to the straight path (siratam moustaqeem).” That was then. But these days Allah has also said to me, a servant of the Promised Messiah, “Innaka ala siratim moustaqeem” meaning “you are on the straight path”. By the Grace of Allah we are rightly guided and to this guidance we invite others.

In the next verse (89) Allah says: “That is the guidance of Allah. He guides thereby those of His servants whom He pleases.” We understand this to mean that Allah gives His Guidance to those amongst His Servants whom He chooses. Moreover He makes these servants know that they are chosen and that they are well guided. And He also warns “And if they had worshipped aught besides Him, surely all they did would have been of no avail to them”. It is because these servants are exclusively devoted to Allah that He has rewarded them with these “ranks”. Had they associated anyone with Him, they would have lost all their good deeds. I have noticed that in his sermon of last week the caliph has condemned saint-worship. I think he should also tell the Ahmadis that they have to do away with their wrong notions about khilafat because this also is a sort of worshipping others besides Allah.

In the following verse (90) Allah says “It is these to whom we gave the Book and dominion and prophethood. And if they are ungrateful for these favours it matters not for we have now entrusted it to a people who are not ungrateful for them. Once favoured people show their ungratefulness, Allah gives His Favours to those who are not ungrateful. And He is the one who knows the heart of the people and He says in 6:125 “Allah aa’lamon hayso yaj’ala risaalatah”, that is “Allah knows best where to place His Message”. And these days we know that He has not placed His Message with the caliph that has been accepted by all Ahmadis! The caliph is duty-bound to guide the Ahmadis properly. And righteousness makes it incumbent upon him to investigate my claims and dispute them if he thinks they are false or accept them if he thinks that they are right. He cannot continue with his stony silence. If he is able to show us better guidance than the one we declare that Allah has given us, we will be most grateful to him.

In the last verse of this ruku Allah says: “these it is whom Allah guided aright, so follow thou their guidance”. Allah tells us that all those people mentioned above are those who have been properly guided and Allah has put, so to say His seal on their guidance and He advises all people to come to follow the guidance of these people. At the same time see how great indeed is His Favour upon mankind when He raises people amongst them and He informs these people that they are properly guided. Then Allah closes the ruku by saying: “Say ‘I ask not of you any reward for it. This is naught but an admonition for all mankind”

I have wished to share these verses with you in order to help you to have a better idea of the Favours of Allah upon us. The machinery of the mainstream Jamaat Ahmadiyya wanted to crush us but Allah has protected us by taking us into His lap and He has graced us with gifts that are only wishes for them. Allah has shown to us that what He promised the Messiah with regard to spiritual benefits is still true. But at the same time He has shown that those who misuse  their power cannot prosper vis a vis His true Servants. He grants His Mercy to whomsoever He pleases amongst His servants. This is a lesson that none of us nor our children and their children should ever forget.

Now I will end by telling you about some of the revelations that I have received from Allah which show how Allah has showered us with His Grace. As always you may notice that most of these revelations are the ones that were bestowed on Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmadas, our teacher par excellence. They are as follows:

-Wa man yo teillaha wa rasoulohou faqad faaza fawzan azima – He who obeys Allah and His prophet shall surely attain a supreme triumph

- Wa man yatawakkal alallahe wa howa hasbohou – He who places his trust in Allah , Allah is sufficient for him

- Inni ma’al rasoule aqoumon – I stand together with My Messenger

- Sa o rikoum aayaati falaa tasta’jeloune- We shall soon show you Our Signs – Be not of those who are in a hurry

-Man yo teil rasoula faqad aataa’allah- He who obeys the Messenger obeys Allah

- Wa maa alal rasoule illal balaagh – The Messenger has only to convey the message

-Oballeghokoum risaalaate Rabbi – I deliver to you the Message of my Lord

- Inna rabbaka la qawiyyoun azize – And your Lord is Mighty and Great

-Fasbir wa koum menas saajedeen – Be patient and be among those who prostrate themselves.

-La qadikhtartoka le nafsi – I have chosen you for Myself

- Laa ilaha illa ana – There is no one to be worshipped but Me.

There are many other which Allah gives me to keep my heart and that of my friends happy. We are grateful for His Favours and we wish more of our Ahmadi friends could partake of these blessings. To all those who may fall into sin by trying to explain how I may be getting these words I will reply by the following verse of the Holy Quran: “Wa maa qadaroullaha haqqa qadrehi iz qaalou maa anzalallaho ala basharim min shay’in” which meansand they do not make a just estimate of Allah when they say ‘Allah has not revealed anything to any man’……(6:92).

May Allah guide all of us to the right path. Ameen.
