Jamaat Ahmadiyya al Mouslemeen Friday Sermon of Hazrat Amirul Momeneen Zafrullah Domun 24 July 2009 At
Bait-ul-Rahma Mosque
After reciting the Tashahhud, the Ta’uz and the first chapter Al Fatiha of the Holy Quran, Hazrat Amirul Mo’emenine, Zafrullah Domun said: Today I will be making a few comments on two different topics.. First I will speak about the flu caused by the H1N1 virus and then I will say a few words again about the Administration of the Ahmadiyya Jamaat in Mauritius. As you may all be aware, the flu caused by the H1N1 flu that has been declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO). A pandemic is described as a disease that has spread over a whole country or over the whole world. In this particular case because it is an infectious disease it is more dangerous since it has the capacity of infecting a lot of people very quickly. Fortunately up till now Allah has spared our little Mauritius, but anything can happen in the future. I do not want to frighten you but we should not also spend our life in blissful ignorance as if nothing is happening around us. According to the latest figures published by WHO more than 700 persons have died worldwide from this type of influenza since it began to spread in April this year. Two weeks ago the number of deaths was only 429. But one may say that this is a minor figure when we compare it with the approximately half a million that dies worldwide from the common flu in any particular year. That is true. But what may happen is not yet known and it is a cause for concern to the health experts at WHO. They are also saying that it is now pointless to continue to count every case because this is the fastest-moving pandemic ever. Around the world some 125,000 laboratory cases have been detected. Besides taking all necessary precautions as we have been advised by the health authorities like washing our hands often and covering our nose and mouth when we sneeze or cough, I suggest that you try to make the following prayers that I will recommend. Expert’s knowledge is limited to causes and reactions but as a Muslim and especially as an Ahmadi we should try to have access to the Cause of causes. We have learned since we were children that Allah is the First Cause and He has capacity over everything and He does what He likes. We believe in such statements and many others as they have been spelled out in the Holy Quran. In our daily life we constantly remind ourselves how insignificant we are vis-à-vis the All –powerful might of He who placed us on this earth. It is our sincere faith that in the face of danger or disease or any type of difficulty or any type of evil, Allah is Powerful enough to protect us with means that are beyond our knowledge and that are known only to Him. However, it should be very clear in the mind of everyone that we should not in any way neglect Allah’s instructions and use of all means that He has made available to us. But for the end result we should place our trust in Him and not on the means that we are using because all those means are subservient to Him. This is a very subtle point and in the extract which I read last week Hazrat Masih Maoodas did mention this. If you have forgotten it please refer back to that sermon on the web. In order to help you to face this probable threat of disease I would like to mention a few supplications that might help. These prayers are not mine. I have taken them from the books of hadith. Since almost all Muslims know the three last chapters of the Holy Quran, please note that the Holy Prophet Mohammadsaw has recommended that we should read them when we wake up in the morning and when we go to sleep at night. The words of these surahs are well known and I am not going to repeat them here. In fact they are the last three surahs (112,113and 114) that start with the word “Qul”. Now if you ask when should we read them in the morning? I will say that it is the Sunnah of the Holy Prophetsaw that he and the sahabas sat down after the Morning Prayer and they practiced the remembrance of Allah until the sun rose. In another hadith it is said that the reading of these three surahs in the morning and at night will suffice you against all things else. So you should also find sometime for this spiritual exercise. But if you are not even praying the Morning Prayer on time then you should worry about your faith because such negligence on your part smacks of hypocrisy. And none amongst you would like to be qualified as a hypocrite. If you have been negligent in the past I suggest that you make amends and you try to do better in the future. May Allah help you all to tread His Path. As an Ahmadi who fulfills his oath of allegiance, we should be constantly engaged in asking for forgiveness from Allah. There are many formulas for asking for forgiveness but the simplest is to say “astaghfirullah” which means “I ask forgiveness from Allah”. The Holy Prophet Mohammadsaw is reported to have said that “he who perseveres in asking for forgiveness, Allah will grant him a way out of every anguish, a relief from any anxiety and will provide for him from where he expects not.” So, whenever you are in trouble resort to “istighfaar” and see how your problems will melt away. One cannot understand the truth of such statements until one has experience in these matters. So you should try it and see how far these spiritual prescriptions are effective. Similarly it is reported that the Holy Prophet Mohammadsaw has said “He who recites seven times in the morning and at night the following prayer, Allah will be sufficient for him against all that preoccupies him in this world and in the next. The prayer is as follows: “Hasbiyallaho laa ilaha illa hou alayhe tawakkalto wa howa rabboul arshil azim”. In fact this is part of verse 129 of chapter 9 of the Holy Quran. Its translation is as follows: “Allah is sufficient for me. There is no god but He. In Him do I put my trust, and He is the Lord of the mighty throne.” There are several other prayers that can be recommended. You will find a compilation of them in many books of prayers. I suggest that in these difficult days one should find out and learn and read all these prayers so that the evil of what have been decreed may be avoided. I will tell you one more prayer and we will say no more on this subject although there is still much to be said. Any how may Allah have mercy on all of us. It is reported that one day, a neighbor came running to one companion of the Prophet, Abu-Darda (RA) when he was at his shop. The neighbor said that the neighborhood where they lived was on fire and that Abu-Darda's house was also burning. Abu-Darda calmly said, `No, it has not burned.' Allahumma anta rabbi, la ilaha
illa anta, as to be distributed in its pristine purity together with whatever else, Allah, out of His Grace has kindly wished to grant us. Jamaat Ahmadiyya Mainstream thought that it could dole out spiritual blessings but Allah has wished to teach them “Innal Fazla be yadillah you’tihi may yahsaa, wallaho wase’oune alim.Yakhtasso be rahmatehi man yashaa’o Walloho zoul fazlil azim”. Its translation is “All Grace is in the hand of Allah. He gives it to whomsoever He pleases. And Allah is Bountiful and All- Knowing. He selects for His Mercy whomsoever He pleases. And Allah is the Lord of Mighty Grace.” Today Allah has placed this duty on our weak shoulders to tell the leadership of Jamaat Ahmadiyya that it is wrong in some of its policies and teachings. Fortunately for us we are able to have our words heard around the world thanks to the internet. Incha Allah we will continue to tell the world how untrue is Jamaat Ahmadiyya mainstream about its slogan “Love for all hatred for none” and how they have deviated from the teachings of the Founder, Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmadas. |
