Jamaat Ahmadiyya al Mouslemeen
Friday Sermon of
01 OCTOBER 2010
At Bait-ul-Rahma Mosque
After reciting the Tauz, the Tashahhud and the first chapter of the Holy Quran Imam Zafrullah Domun recited verses 147 to 152 from Sura Al Imran of the Holy Quran and gave its translation as follows:
“And many a Prophet there has been beside whom fought numerous companies of their followers. They slackened not for aught that befell them in the way of Allah, nor did they weaken, nor did they humiliate themselves before the enemy. And Allah loves the steadfast.
And they uttered not a word except that they said: ‘Our Lord, forgive us our errors and our excesses in our conduct, and make firm our steps and help us against the disbelieving people.’
So Allah gave them the reward of this world, as also an excellent reward of the next; and Allah loves those who do good
O ye who believe! if you obey those who have disbelieved, they will cause you to turn back on your heels, and you will become losers.
Nay, Allah is your Protector, and He is the Best of helpers.
We shall strike terror into the hearts of those that have disbelieved because they associate partners with Allah for which He has sent down no authority. Their abode is the Fire; and evil is the habitation of the wrongdoers.”
By the Grace of Allah we, members of Jamaat Ahmadiyya Al
Mouslemeen claim to be a Jamaat of Allah. We also say that we strive to live
according to the teachings and doctrines of Islam as explained by Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmadas,
the founder of the Ahmadiyya Movement in Islam. To us the mainstream Ahmadiyya
Jamaat represented by the caliph in London has deviated from the straight path
taught by the founder of the Jamaat. They declare that they are here to show
the world the true face of Islam but in fact they promote such teachings and
irrational beliefs that destroy the peace and harmony that should have
prevailed within society. Putting on the garb of peace promoters they have done
untold harm in destroying social harmony amongst their own members. But Allah
is not at all unaware of these evil designs. And to counter them and their evil
teachings Allah has raised this humble self as an “Imam ul mutaqeen”, that is “a leader for the righteous.” If in the past,
despite the excesses committed by the mainstream Jamaat, there was no
alternative for a member who was a victim of injustice, today the situation is
not the same. Today we are telling them that Allah has given you the means of
your liberation through Jamaat Ahmadiyya Al Mouslemeen because Allah has
repeatedly said to this humble self “Those who make the oath allegiance with
you do so with Allah. Allah’s hand is above theirs.” But unfortunately such
wisdom is above the intellect of most Ahmadis these days. They have clutched
something known as khilafat and they would not at all let go of it even if what
they are being called to is better than what they have. Out of fidelity not to
Allah but to their parents and grandparents they prefer to stick to the beliefs
that they received rather than what they are being taught by Allah through
someone that He has appointed. But such is the nature of man and people are always eager to reject that which their
knowledge cannot comprehend despite Allah’s guidance.
These days I do not meet with many members of the mainstream Jamaat Ahmadiyya. Despite my repeated calls for a dialogue almost no one has responded. I am calling them towards their salvation and they are calling me to reject the favours that Allah has graced me with. In other words they are telling me to reject the revelations that I receive and to accept the ijtehad of their caliphs which I have repeatedly said is even contrary to what Hazrat Masih Maoodas has said. To use a metaphor of the Holy Quran, members of Jamaat Ahmadiyya mainstream are fleeing me these days as if they are “frightened asses fleeing from a lion” (74:51-52). The truth is that they know they are not on solid grounds and they know that in any discussion with us about any matter pertaining to Jamaat Ahmadiyya’s doctrine they will be easily routed and so they prefer to avoid this confrontation and concentrate their efforts on making paper Ahmadis and present to the world a perverted version of Ahmadiyyat.
So, admitting defeat by their behavior in not having any exchange
of views on points of differences, the mainstream Jamaat uses other subtle ways
to hit at us by using threats and blackmail and by creating enmity between
brothers and sisters and by breaking family relationship. Of course by doing so
their behavior is quite far from the standard established by Hazrat Masih Maood
as. This is how the Amir and his diehard friends try to impose the status quo and preserve
their vested interests. Fortunately Jamaat Ahmadiyya in Mauritius is a flimsy
minority that has to fight for its own survival because if it had been
influential one can only imagine the atrocities that they would have committed
in the name of their religion and especially their wrong ideas about khilafat. Allah knows what He does.
As I said previously we are a group of people who are concerned with following the teachings of Islam as explained by Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmadas. Most of my friends and I are past fifty years these days. We have always tried to adopt Islam as a way of life and we have strived to manifest its teachings in our daily lives. As such we have always been a group of people who have been promoting love and peace amongst us and amongst the members of the Jamaat. We have always been for open relationships with all and sundry. Never did we have any hidden agenda because we consider this to be a sin. Personally I believed and still believe that the members of the Jamaat of Hazrat Masih Maoodas should live as if they are all brothers and sisters of the same mother. But unfortunately the same could not be said of the mainstream Jamaat. Many members from the mainstream Jamaat have manifested an open enmity towards us. They stopped saying salaam and boycotted us in their social functions in obedience to the instructions of their caliph as interpreted by their amir. They have preferred to ignore basic Islamic teachings but they left no stone unturned in order to try to harm us.
One may rightly ask “what is the difference between them and those
who harm Ahmadis in Pakistan and elsewhere?” In Pakistan ignorant mullahs
promise the even more ignorant people Paradise if they kill Ahmadis. In
Mauritius no other instruction of the caliph is as assiduously followed as the
one where he has said that we should be boycotted. In Pakistan the reward is
Paradise and in Mauritius the reward is the caliph’s pleasure. If, meanwhile it
incurs Allah’s displeasure, it does not matter. When the caliph tells them to
practice the teachings of Islam as explained by Hazrat Masih Maoodas,
they ignore him. You will see some of them resorting to cinema theatres. When
he tells their wives to observe purdah, you will hear them saying that this is
not necessary and you will see their wives roaming about flouting the
instructions about purdah. When the caliph tells them that they have to follow
through on their engagements, you will see some amongst them ignoring them
brazen facedly. Were they sincere in their beliefs and their commitment and
they read what Hazrat Masih has said in Kishti
Nuh they would have wept tears of blood when they saw the distance between
what they are doing and what they were asked to do. But who cares? What is most
important to them is to manifest the impurity of their heart in showing how
they can obey their caliph even on only one instruction, namely boycott Zafrullah
Domun and his friends.
By the Grace of Allah we know with certainty where we stand. We do our best to obey Allah. We know that any group that sincerely tries to obey Allah will find in its way some people who are under the influence of Satan and they will always try to influence them to stop pursuing the goal they have chosen. That is why Allah says from the verses that I have just read “O ye who believe! if you obey those who have disbelieved, they will cause you to turn back on your heels, and you will become losers. Nay, Allah is your Protector, and He is the Best of helpers” (3:150-151). Mainstream Jamaat Ahmadiyya as a whole has rejected what we are telling them and they want us to obey them in this rejection. But Allah helps us to understand that if we do so we would be the losers. At the same time Allah reminds us that members of the mainstream Jamaat may harm us a little but they would never be able to derail us from our mission. Why, because “Allah is your Protector, and He is the Best of helpers”. I cannot tell you how many times Allah has revealed this verse to me. At the same time at the beginning of this week he has told me “fasbir, innaka antal aa’la” which we translate as “have patience; you will have the upper hand”. Similarly I have received part of verse 152 of chapter three “ Sanoulqi fi qoloubillazina kafarou rou’ba bema ashrakou billah maa lam yonazil behi soultaana” which we translate as “We shall strike terror into the hearts of those that have disbelieved because they associate partners with Allah for which He has sent down no authority”.
If there were no “terror” in the hearts of mainstream Ahmadis why
do they not rise up to the challenge that I have been constantly launching to
them? Although I do agree that one should obey one’s leader but this obedience
stops when the leader goes against what Allah and His Messenger has said. If
one gives to one’s leader an importance that is due only to Allah one is guilty
of what Allah is saying in this verse that is “they associate partners with Allah for which He has sent down no
authority”. You should take lessons if you are endowed with reason.
As far as we are concerned we should not allow any harm, any distress, any pain to distract us from the path that we have chosen to tread. This path will lead you all to your salvation. This salvation is in the hands of Allah and He has guided you to put your hand in the hand of someone that He has chosen. This is not a path that is full of roses; this is not the land of milk of honey. This is a path that is strewn with difficulties, with pain, with loss of dear ones, with loss of property, with the non-realization of cherished objectives. But this is also the path of God realization which will make all losses seem nothing at all. Your purpose, once you are born is to know your Lord. This takes time. But Allah has put all of us on that path. Now it is our duty to pursue this goal whatever happens. But while walking on the path remember that “Allah is your Protector, and He is the Best of helpers”. I advise you not to let yourself be distracted by what the mainstream Ahmadis do. They do not know where they are. You will hear many of them say that there are many problems within the Jamaat and Allah will look after it. They are like the Muslims who at the beginning of the 14th century Hijra were looking for the Messiah but when he came they rejected him and they have paid a very dear price for this rejection. Similarly when Allah sends them someone to guide them the Ahmadis reject him and by doing so they reject Allah’s Favour and they believe in falsehood. In fact they have turned the Favour of Allah into something that prevents them from enjoying other Favours of Allah.
Therefore under no circumstance should we slacken our efforts against the mainstream Ahmadis. We should continue to talk about and write about what is wrong with that they think and do. We will bear everything that will befall us on the path that Allah has chosen for us. We will not show any weakness and above everything we will not humiliate ourselves in front of them. In previous times before Allah manifested Himself to us we believed the caliphs to be our guides. But today that is no more. Today Allah has told me several times that “He has perfected His Favour upon us” and He has put me here and He stands by me. May Allah continue to strengthen our faith and may He grant us all the favours promised. We do not wish any ill for any one. We are here to help. Many do not know what is in store for them. Repeatedly after Eid Allah has said to me “ Inna ajalallahe la’aatin law kanou ya’lamoune” which means “the appointed time is fast approaching, wouldst that they knew” and “Inna ajalallahe la’aatin laa ghaiba fiha”meaning “the appointed time is fast approaching, there is no doubt about it”. I do not know to what exactly it is referring. But Allah knows best. Incha Allah more next time.
