After reciting, Tashahhud , Ta'uz and chapter Al Fatiha of the Holy Quran, Hazrat Amirul Mo'menine Zafrullah Domun said: As you are all aware the new moon for Zul Hajj 1429 was born on Thursday 27th November 2008 at around 16:55 universal time. As usual it has been visible around different places in the world at different times. But Saudi Arabia has said that the day of Arafat, the peak of the Hajj will be on Sunday 7th December. Hence at their place they will celebrate this year's Eid ul Adha on Monday 8 th December and in Mauritius we will incha Allah be celebrating it on the 9th December. The first ten days of Zul Hajj are very blessed days. From the Hadiths we learn that the Holy Prophet Mohammad (saw) said: " There are no deeds as excellent as those done in these ten days." They (the companions listening) said, "Not even Jihâd?" He, peace upon him, said: "No, not even Jihâd except a man who goes forth endangering his life and wealth and does not return with anything." In another version it is related as follows: “There is no deed more precious in the sight of Allah, or greater in reward than a good deed done during the first ten days of the month of Zul Hajj. And the rest is the same as in the above hadith. Similarly it is also reported that during these days we should increase the number of times we say tahlîl (lâ illaha illallah), takbîr (allahu akbar) and tahmîd (alhumdulillâh). In addition we should engage ourselves more and more in prayers and the remembrance of Allah and if possible give more in charity. Hence those who stay at home during these days of Hajj should not let these days pass as if they are ordinary days. We should make it a duty to increase our good deeds during this period. The believer always tries not to let go of any opportunity where he or she may do good. So let us all remember to spend these blessed remaining days in doing whatever we can to try to please our Lord. May Allah enable each one of us to come nearer to Him during these days and may He give us the opportunity to do such deeds that will please Him. May we all refrain from harming anyone with either our tongue or by our hands incha Allah. May Allah always open for us and for all Muslims around the world the doors of His Nearness. It is incumbent upon all Muslims who have means to go for Hajj at least once in his lifetime. As you know pilgrimage to the House of Allah is one of the five pillars of Islam. There are many blessings attached to this sacred act. It is reported in Mishkaat that the Holy Prophet Mohammad (saw) is reported to have said: “he who makes a pilgrimage for Allah's sake and does not talk loosely nor acts wickedly will return as pure from sin as on the day he was born.” “The Hajj and Umra put away poverty and sin like the fires in a forge removes dross.” “The reward of a pilgrimage is paradise. When you see a pilgrim salute and embrace him and request him to ask pardon of Allah for you, for his own sins have been forgiven and his supplications will be accepted.” ( Mishkaat ). Hence we can understand that all the rituals of the Hajj are geared to help a Muslim believer to get rid of his sins. Let us hope and pray that Allah accepts of every pilgrim the sacrifices that they have undergone to please Him. May they all live the life of good Muslims ever after. There will be about 2.5 to 3 million pilgrims who will do Hajj this year. All of them would hope that Allah accept their Hajj. But the knowledge of acceptance will remain only with Allah or if He wishes to inform someone about it through a revelation, a dream or a vision. There are some good servants of Allah who did not perform the Hajj but Allah rewarded them with Hajj. It is on record that one such a person was Ibn Mubarak, jurist, a mujahid in the early days of Islam. It is related that 'Abdullah ibn al-Mubarak entered Kufa when he was intending to go on the hajj. There was a woman sitting on a rubbish-heap plucking a duck. It occurred to him that it was carrion. He stopped on his mule and said to her, 'Women! Is this duck carrion or sacrificed?' She said, 'Carrion.' He said, 'Then why are you plucking it?' She said, 'So that my family and I can eat it.' He said, 'Woman! Allah Almighty has forbidden you carrion while you are in a land like this!' She said, 'Man, go away.' They continued to exchange words until he said to her, 'Where in Kufa do you live?' She said, 'In the quarter of the Banu so-and-so.' He said, 'By what is your house known?' She said, 'The Banu so-and-so.' He left her and went to the inn. Then he asked about the tribe and they directed him to it. He said to a man, 'You have a dirham if you come with me to the place.' This story may have many versions. I have told you about one here. We need only to take the lesson that the incident illustrates which is that at times fulfilling the needs of the poor can earn you rewards even for acts that you have not performed. Such is Allah's Generosity. Well these were some words that I wanted to say about the Hajj. Now I will come back to what the amir of the Jamaat in Mauritius said about us in his speech at a function the previous week. It has been reported to me by a reliable source that among other things the amir with his usual tone said that up till now whatever we said would happen to him has not happened. He said that we should continue to wish him evil, may be he may live up to hundred years. And as expected his audience laughed because of the fun that he was poking at us. Some time back I quoted the following in my Friday sermon of 6th June 2008:
I used this quotation as an introduction to say that today Jamaat Ahmadiyya mainstream is groping in ignorance. Since there is ignorance at the head and since obedience to this head permeates the organization, therefore this ignorance has trickled down throughout the organization around the world and like sheep going to the slaughter house they all repeat the same mistake. This is how you find a defender of the status quo in Mauritius telling his people stupid things to joke about us. Thus although they know that Hazrat Masih Maood (as) has said that it is a despicable idea to think that Khilafat in Islam lasted only thirty years the “elite” of the Jamaat keep telling this obnoxious lie to the people in order to justify their erroneous ideas about Khilafat. There is no love for truth even if it comes from Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad. Anyhow knowing the breadth of the knowledge of the one at the head in Mauritius and his immediate entourage one cannot expect anything better. I agree that they are very good politicians, they know how to keep their ignorant crowd under control, they are very good professionals in their respective fields. However knowing them from very close quarters I would lie if I say that they love what is true and they shun what is false. To begin with what they know about Ahmadiyyat is what they received as a heritage. Their knowledge is limited to what is available only in English language and that also is quite little compared to what the Messiah has written in Urdu Language. Secondly they are not even interested to open their mind to understand any new knowledge available. They live in a balloon and they think that is the whole world like the proverbial frog which thinks that the pond is the world. Just imagine what is the difference between the Ahmadis of today and the non Ahmadis of the time of Hazrat Masih Maood (as). They are the same. It is as if the enemies of the Messiah have been reborn. And Maulvi Batalvi is in Mauritius and so is Hakim Mirza. Attempts are being made to help them to see some sense but they keep referring to what they have been taught even if what they were taught was wrong. They have lost the capacity to listen, the leaders are astray and they are leading the poor followers astray. Bigotry has taken such a hold over the mind of some people in this Jamaat that they have become blind. You will be surprised to hear that an ahmadi, an ex friend of mine said to my brother that for khilafat's sake even if he has to kill he would do so. Can you imagine that we should hear such an atrocity from the mouth of someone who claims to be the follower of Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as), the prince of peace? And yet they say that they love Jamaat Ahmadiyya and they are defending its teachings. The truth is that they have taken another God besides the One that they were told to worship. Now it appears that Ahmadis are quite offended with the Blue Booklet that we have circulated and there are rumours that there are some diehards who have said that they are ready to beat me if need be. I hope that these are only rumours and “barking dogs do not bite”. Anyhow I say it boldly that Allah is My Protector. He has put me here and I am doing what I am doing at His bidding. Now whosoever thinks that he can frustrate Allah's plans through his might let him move forward and then we will see. By the Grace of Allah, day in day out I am learning more and more about the History of Jamaat Ahmadiyya during the past ninety four years. I have to confess that what I am learning is really troublesome. I keep wondering how come people whom we have venerated for so long could have done what is being said they did. Anyhow I am waiting for some important books to come from abroad. Once I have read those books, incha Allah I will be making a series of sermons or even writing some articles to let the world but in particular the Mauritians know what has been going on inside Jamaat Ahmadiyya. Since the amir seems to be asking where the divine punishment is promised I will give him some verses of the Holy Quran to meditate and I advise him not to be in any hurry. Allah needs not rush to punish; He is more eager to forgive. Personally I would have wished he repented of his bad deeds before the punishment comes. Allah says:
I do not wish any evil to anyone. I wish all could be rightly guided but this does not depend on me because Allah has promised to those who wish to be rightly guided that He will guide them to His path. : |
