After reciting the Tashahhud, the Ta’uz and the first chapter Al Fatiha of the Holy Quran Imam Zafrullah Domun said:

Need for our actions to follow our declarations.

It is an indisputable fact that Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmadas (1835-1908) came from Allah for the rejuvenation of Islam. By the Grace of Allah he was able in his writings to prove the truthfulness of Islam over all other religions. During his lifetime he worked ceaselessly to show the world the wisdom underlying the teachings of Islam. Fortunately he left a Jamaat which tried to follow in his footsteps and tried to propagate his teachings to the corners of the world. To some extent we have to acknowledge that there has been some success. To Hazrat Ahmad as, joining his Jamaat meant, following a code of conduct that signals one from others in doing good deeds. Hence it is the duty and responsibility of each person who declares himself to be an Ahmadi Muslim to show by his conduct that he or she knows and follows the noble teachings of Hazrat Ahmad as. If someone says he is an Ahmadi Muslim but he follows his evil inclinations such a person does not form part of the Jamaat of Hazrat Masih Maood as. He may declare to the top of the world that he is a follower of Hazrat Ahmadas, but his words and actions will speak volumes against his declared statements.

An Ahmadi Muslim cannot be a cheat or a deceiver. He or she is expected to be honest in dealing with others. Under no circumstance can an Ahmadi Muslim speak words of untruth in order to deceive others whether they are Ahmadis or not. Allah has joined upon us to be frank and not try to take advantage of the weaknesses of others. We are here to be of help to others and not to exploit them for our personal gain. Hazrat Masih Maood as has written a very beautiful passage about this matter. As a reminder I will quote from Kishti Nuh. He says:

Remain in great fear of the curse of God, for He is Holy, intensely jealous and particular in His Holiness. An evil doer cannot win nearness to Him. No one who is proud can win His Nearness, nor the oppressor and the unjust, or one who is dishonest, or anyone who is not jealous for His Name. Those who fall for worldly benefits like dogs or ants or vultures falling blindly on carrion, those who have only sought comfort in life; they cannot win nearness to Him. Every impure eye remains far removed from Him; every impure heart remains unaware of Him. For Him whoever lives in fire shall be saved from the flames; he who weeps for His sake shall be made happy, full of laughter and jubilance. He who breaks away from this world for His sake, shall find Him. With the deepest sincerity of heart, with a steadfast strength become the friends of God, so that He too should become your friend. Show mercy to your subordinates, be kind to your spouses and to your brethren who are poor, so that in heaven you too be received with mercy. You really and truly become His, so that He too should be yours. This world is a place of thousands of evils, tribulations and trials: in all sincerity and steadfastness of heart catch hold of God, so that He keep these evils, tribulations and trials away from you. No evil and no distress takes its birth on this earth without a decree from Heaven to that effect; and no distress is lifted until mercy descend from Heaven. Therefore wisdom on your part lies in this that you take firm hold of the root, without worrying about the branches. It is not forbidden unto you to have recourse to remedies or plan with human endeavour. what is forbidden is that you place your entire reliance on them. In all circumstances it is God’s will that will be done, and for one who has the power to take his stand on this point, the position of faith in and reliance on God is the best of all positions.

Unfortunately when we look at those Ahmadis who claim that they are the true heirs to the teachings of Hazrat Ahmad as, one is bound to conclude that there are many who are in this Jamaat but who by their words and actions have proved to be far away from these noble teachings. Physically they are in the Jamaat of the Promised Messiah, but in fact they form part of the group of cheaters, dishonest men and women, beguilers. They do not care that they ignore the teachings of Allah and the Holy Prophet saw. To them getting wealth by any means is more important than acting justly with others. Such people are a shame on the Jamaat of Hazrat Masih Maood as. They have all to be expelled from it if they do not make amends, remedy their wrongdoings and strive to follow the teachings of the Promised Messiah. Such people, instead of helping the Jamaat to progress are dead weights that have to be dragged along. Hence the necessity for renewal as promised by Allah to Hazrat Masih Maood as.

You will recall that in many of my sermons I have said that Jamaat Ahmadiyya needs reform from head to toe. In fact since a very long time Allah had revealed to Hazrat Masih MaoodasYouslehoullaho jamaa’ati inchaa Allaho Ta’aala”(Tazkira Page 907). This revelation is translated as “Allah will reform my Jamaat, Allah willing.” It was received in 1892. Hence we can understand that the need for reform would always be there and that this reform will not be brought about through the system of khilafat but through a system chosen by Allah. In fact this is what Hazrat Masih Maoodas has taught us. But this is unfortunately what those who have a vested interest and who lack understanding fail to acknowledge. If the leaders stick to what Hazrat Masih Maood as has said there would be no problem at all but they have distorted some of his writings and they are taking the Jamaat where it should not go.

So we, members of Jamaat Ahmadiyya Al Mouslemeen should be very careful of what we say and what we do. It is our duty to learn the teachings well and to practice them every day and night without fail. We should not think that we are like others. We are not. By accepting to follow your Imam you have made a pledge to lead a life of piety and not of sins. So, each one amongst us should see to it that we do not deviate from any of the teachings of the Holy Quran that we have received through Hazrat Masih Maoodas. Remember that we all should learn to practice virtue everyday of our life. We should not just wait for Ramadan or for Fridays to do good deeds. As a good AhmadiMuslim we should learn what the expectations of Hazrat Masih Maoodas from us are and we should do our best to respond to those expectations. If we do not do so we fail to qualify as a member of the Jamaat of the Promised Messiah.

As a good and sincere Ahmadi Muslim it is our belief that Hazrat Masih Maood as received revelations from Allah. Many of these revelations were in the form of prophecies. Out of these prophecies many have been fulfilled and there are many which are yet to be fulfilled, Allah willing. We all know that he prophesied against Lekh Ram and against Alexander Dowie of America. He prophesied about the great turmoil that was going to turn the world upside down. In fact now more than hundred years after those prophesies were published we can say without any doubt that what he prophesied became true. In fact many historians say that the turbulence and violence that we have seen in the twentieth century (1900-1999) is unparalleled in the history of the world. The first (1914-1918) and second (1939-1945) world war have killed more than 50million people. Communism in Russia and China has been responsible for the death of more than 30million people through misguided policies resulting in famine and the elimination of opponents. Similarly there have been pogroms committed by the English in Kenya and the untold suffering of the Algerian people because of the unwillingness of France to grant them independence. Most recently we know of the genocide perpetrated in Rwanda and Bosnia. The list is quite long. I have not spoken about war between Muslims and Hindus during the period of independence in1947. The list is endless to explain how the world had been really convulsed during the past 100 years. I will read you a text from HM’s writings where he speaks about the impending calamities for the world. He says:

Bear in mind that God has informed me time and again about the coming of earthquakes. So be sure that just as there have been earthquakes in America and in Europe, in keeping with the prophecies, so will they occur in different parts of Asia, and some of them will be as terrifying as doomsday. There will be death on such a large scale that rivers will run with blood, and even birds and animals will not escape it. Such destruction will overtake the earth as has not happened since man was born. Most places will be turned upside down as if they had never been inhabited. There will also be other terrible afflictions, both in heaven and earth, and every sensible person will realize that they are no ordinary phenomena, and no trace of them will be found in books of astronomy or philosophy. Then people will be seized by anxiety and they will wonder what is going to happen? Many will be saved, and many will perish. Those days are near; indeed they are at the door, when the world shall witness a spectacle of doomsday. Not only will there be earthquakes, but other terrible calamities will also appear, some from heaven and some from the earth. This will happen because men have given up the worship of their God, and all their thoughts and their designs and their resolves are diverted towards the world. Had I not come, these calamities might have been delayed for a while, but with my coming the secret designs of God’s wrath, that had long been hidden, have been manifested. As God said:

We never punish until We have sent a Messenger. (Ch.17:V.16)

Those who repent shall find security and those who fear before the calamity overtakes them will be shown mercy. Do you think that you will be safe from these earthquakes, or that you can save yourselves by your own designs? No, you cannot. All human designs will come to naught that day. Do not imagine that only America has been shaken by the earthquake and that you are safe, for you may experience even greater calamities. O Europe! you are not secure, O Asia! You are not secure, O you who dwell in the Islands, no artificial god will come to your aid. I see the cities falling and I see the habitations in ruin. The One and the Unique has long remained silent. Abominations were committed before His eyes and yet He remained silent. But now He shall reveal His countenance in a dreadful manner. He who has ears to hear, let him hear! The hour is not far. I tried to bring everyone under the security of God, but the decrees of destiny had to be fulfilled. Assuredly, I say that this country’s turn is also drawing near. The days of Noah(as) shall appear before your eyes, and you will see with your own eyes what happened to the land of Lot(as). But God is slow to wrath, repent so that you are shown mercy. He who abandons God is a worm, not a man, and he who does not fear Him is dead, not alive. (Haqiqat-ul-Wahi, Ruhani Khaza’in, Vol. 22, pp. 268-269)

Because of lack of time I will speak more about this matter next time incha Allah.
